2012 has been interesting.


I've written about 70k words (got a couple still anon for Holmestice and TW hols), which is my biggest word count in 12 months to date :D

I've really enjoyed writing this year, despite my near-constant angsting about it. Paperlegends was great fun, and I'd love to do it again. Might see if I can flesh out any of my ideas to fit the word count. Tempted to do something reincarnation-y but everyone's going to do that now, aren't they? We'll see.

Next year I need to work on some of my wips. Or give up on them, one or the other. I need to focus on planning before I start writing, so I've got more chance of actually finishing.

I'd love to write some original fic, I'm going to keep it in the back of my mind, seeing if something comes to me. I'd love to do something like NaNo, so might see what happens.

I enjoyed pthon a lot more this time round, I think something to do with being more comfortable/better at writing porny things, and I'm already planning to do it again next year, assuming it's running.

I did my first fanmix, for the wayward mixes exchange, which was a lot of fun (even with the angsting over photoshop), and I'm signed up for the next one, just need to start getting songs together!

I wrote a Sherlock fic! I thought I'd basically left the fandom, but I signed up for Holmestice and wrote something I'm quite proud of, which was good. We really need a new series though, to get the fandom moving again.

Merlin! Gonna miss it so much. Not much else to say, other than I'm looking forward to seeing what the fandom does now.

Teen Wolf is my new fandom this year, so much fun!



RL is getting there, I've got some more work to do in therapy, with my relationship with work, and keeping my house tidy, as well as my physical health and wellbeing, but I'm making small, sustainable changes that I'm hoping I can carry through with me.

I also need to start knitting again! I've got a couple of people I've promised things to and I'm planning on re-visiting the dinosaur pattern I've got, as my colleague's baby turns one this year, and I think I can baby-proof it enough for it to be a suitable present :)


Fandom has been wonderful to me, as always. I love absolutely everyone I've met, and hope to get to know you all better! This year was the first time I met someone from fandom in RL- the lovely eyesofapanda, which was great fun.

So, Saturday I'm off to the parents house. Tomorrow night M's parents are coming down, stopping the night and then heading back to the midlands. I'm having a meal with him, his parents and his grandparents, then off to endure whatever mishaps my parents house will hold. I'm incredibly anxious about it all, because it's not been the best year financially for them, and they can't deal with stress in any productive way (I can see where I get my flailing from). Sooo I'm anticipating stress. 

I'm only there until boxing day, then back up here and work on Thursday. Yaay. Will have some time to myself to decompress after Christmas as I'm not sure when M's coming back but it won't be the same day as me, so yeah. 

The short story is, I'm not going to have guaranteed/great access to the Internet until Wednesday evening, so:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I hope you all have brilliant weekends/holidays, Christmas, if you celebrate it. 

I'm looking forward to the actual day - I love playing with the kids and helping set things up (we all clubbed together to get them a wii with all assorted bits and pieces, they're going to be so excited!). It's just the run up with everyone stressing out that's going to be awful.

I'm not going to be watching Merlin, as I haven't at all, and I'm not ready at all for the end, but I'm not that fussed about spoilers? So there's that. I'm feeling a bit distanced from fandom in general, but I think that's because of RL, so after Christmas I think I'll be fine.

I've signed up for hp_kinkfest again! Got an awesome Remus/Sirius prompt, because otp <3. I'll do more writing after the holidays.

I've been a bit 'meh' recently. I want to write but I can't focus on any one idea long enough to actually go through with it? This has been the first time in a loooong time that I haven't had a deadline for writing. I think I've forgotten how to write off my own back :/ Quick someone poke me to write something!

I also want to write a John/Sherlock/Lestrade fic, and some lady fic. Either femslash or just awesome ladies being awesome, but I've never written it before? *ponders*

I haven't felt like reading fic either DDD: which is a shame because some of the fests are producing some awesome stuff but I'm just...meh? meh meh meh.

I blame Christmas. I love Christmas, I just don't want to spend it around my parents - they're far too stressful (and this year is going to be even worse, because they're strapped for cash this year, which makes them feel bad). And I need a lift back on Boxing Day (which I haven't asked my stepdad about yet - if I do it now he'll forget by the actual day and that'll be a whole new level of shit). Dreading it, tbh. BUT it doesn't matter. Because my siblings are awesome and I'll only be there for 5 days, for that's totally do-able.

Work is work, nothing new there.

thank you to everyone who posted on my last post - I will reply to comments but I haven't had time/have been feeling utter crap today, so not got around to it yet. I am emailing the guy about the job tonight, so that's fun/nerve-wracking :D?

I am 99% sure my feeling crap is self-inflicted. Went out for drinks last night, got a bit drunk, stomach responded spectacularly a couple of hours later and I did not have a fun walk home. I've felt nauseated all day :( I've never had this reaction to alcohol before (otherwise I wouldn't have drunk that much).

I've made my fandom twitter private - comment or add me or whatever, I am totally open to adding people, just paranoid - I am applying for a job at a tech/web company, their google-fu might be strong, so am trying to distance RL from fandom, which I hate doing, but its something I feel I should do :(
